Hey 7C, I'm sure you've seen Brian's announcement by now. I will be sitting in the captains chair now that hes left it empty and still warm… (ew?) I do not plan to drastically change anything, we just needed someone who is able to devote more time to the guild than he's been able to with his RL situation. I know he recruited most of us and I'm happy to say he'll still be around… just not in-game.
So, after we had the raid focused members leave a few weeks ago I just want to go "back to basics". I want us to be a casual friendly, non-judgmental community that's actually a community.
Back in the day, 7C was simply a linkshell in Final Fantasy XI. FFXI did not have the luxury of the duty finder and they actually had to party up manually to run dungeons. Let's start doing this! Get to know your FC mates!
We won't have an official 7C static but we still have a few members running in Cap's static. That won't change. Even though we're casual focused doesn't mean we're anti-endgame. Do what you enjoy.
If you want to try organizing a static, go for it! Use the guildwork site, use facebook. We're just not recruiting new people marketing ourselves as a endgame focused guild.
We will be dropping scheduled weekly events. There just has not been the attendance to keep them going. This will change as we got more people back when patch 3.1 hits. We still have the website for event requests. I've rearranged the site to be more mobile friendly and added 'Event Request' to the header links. So use the site!
I'm not the only staff change, please congratulate Axel (Gabriel Alberto Venegas) and Shinryu (Jason Vansyoc) as new members of the Small Council. I'm happy to have you guys here during the transition!
We do need more help though. If anyone is interested in helping poor Sassie with Airship stuff, gardening and Chocobo feeding please let me know. This goes out to staff and non-staff. We need to fill the hole left by Amaya.
Also, I'd like to have a recruiter. If anyone is a people person and thinks they could bring in cool new people please let me know. This is one of my biggest weakness and was one reason I wasn't sure if I should be the one to take over. So I'm hoping to lean on you guys to help here. There will always be turnover and we'll eventually die without new blood.
The future looks bright with patch 3.1 coming out. We'll have new events with Airship Exploratory Missions basically built to have FCs party together to explore and kill rare monsters. There will be a new 24 man alliance to bitch about and the Lord of Verminion, pokemon-esque mini game where we use minions to battle. It's going to be fun, and that's all I want for this FC… for us all to have fun. So, let's enjoy our community and game together!
