Ziro's parents were murdered in front of him at the young age of 7. He was also injured, his face being slashed and almost losing an eye in the carnage. He was able to barely survive the horrible event and swore vengeance on the monster. Luckily he was found near death in the wreckage of his town by a Miqo'te by the name of Nik Elz. Nik brought him back home to his family and Ziro was raised as if he were Nik's younger brother. Ziro devoted the next 10 years of his life training alongside his adoptive brother and learning to be a hunter of all sorts of beasts with the goal of one day hunting down and slaying the dragon which cost him his birth parents and nearly his life. Ziro generally comes across as a happy youth, not someone who had a terrible traumatic childhood. Most of this can be attributed to his adoptive family and his appreciation for just being alive when by all rights he should be dead. While he is generally fun loving and enjoys a good joke or seasonal event as much as the next youngster, when he is engaged in battle or hunting down some big game he becomes a man possessed and nothing will stop him from taking down his target. When he is not in battle (or sometimes when he is), he is known for trying to impress the ladies in general and whomever the object of his affection at the time may be. He has a thing for Hyuran or especially Miqo'te females, but is a bit intimidated by Elezen or Roegadyn women as he is short of stature himself. He is also known as Ziro the Redeye for his one discolored red eye which was turned blood red and remained so after the dragon attack. Some say this was a physical change brought on by the injury, others claim it is a magic omen, or some symbol that his destiny is to become a great slayer of monsters. Ziro can generally be found either on a hunt or being paid handsomely to bring back materials from beasts across Eorzea.
