I've been taking screenshots in the game for years and only recently found out about this awesome little minion. Here's a quick guide on how to pick up your own wind-up sun. All it takes is trading an elixir to the magic pot at the Isles of Umbra.

There aren't any vendors that sell elixir so just buy one off the market board.

They're usually pretty cheap!

Sometimes they're only being sold in large stacks but a 50 alchemist can craft one. Here is the recipe:



Teleport to Aleport in Western La Noscea.
Head on over to the Ferry Skipper at 27:28.


Pay the 40 gil and take a trip to the Isles of Umbra.

Once there head to the Magic Pot at 12:36.


Have a chat with him. He has a lot to say!
When you're ready, swap that elixir for the minion.


The sun minion has four levels of height.
Use the /poke emote to change its height.


It stays in a fixed position and doesn't follow you. If you walk too far away it simply gets unsummoned.
The coolest thing about this minion is that it disappears when you drop your HUD to take screenshots. It really was made for this!
